A 9-hole ocarina is a musical instrument that is similar to a flute or a recorder. It is made of clay or ceramic and has nine finger holes, which are used to produce different notes. The ocarina is played by blowing into the mouthpiece and covering and uncovering the finger holes to create music. It is a versatile instrument that can be used to play a wide range of musical styles and genres. **

The 12-hole ocarina typically has a range of about an octave and a half, and the notes are arranged in a similar pattern to a piano keyboard. The lowest note is usually C, and the highest note is usually F or G. To play ocarina music, you cover and uncover the holes on the instrument to change the pitch of the notes. By using different combinations of fingerings, you can play melodies and harmonies, and by controlling your breath, you can create dynamics and expression in the music. There are many resources available online and in books that can teach you how to play the ocarina, including sheet music and tutorials. **

For beginners, a 12-hole alto C ocarina is often recommended as it is one of the most common and versatile types of ocarinas. It is relatively easy to learn and play compared to other types, making it a great choice for those new to the instrument. Additionally, the alto C ocarina is capable of playing a wide range of music genres and is widely available for purchase at affordable prices. **
